Plain language: what we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

When you contact us (the contact form): your name, email, and — if you give them — your phone number, company, project type and message.

When you apply for work (the application form): your name, phone, email and address, county, the trade you're applying for, your experience, how you heard about us, any résumé you upload, and your typed signature. The optional Section 3 questions ask for your household size and income, whether you live in public housing, receive Section 8 assistance or are in YouthBuild, and any supporting document you choose to upload.

Technical data: to block spam, our server briefly keeps a count of form submissions per internet (IP) address for up to an hour. This public site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we collect it

  • To answer your message or prepare the quote you asked for.
  • To consider you for jobs on our projects and contact you about them.
  • Section 3 hiring: many of our projects are funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which asks contractors to give hiring priority to local low-income residents and to report on it. Your answers help us see whether you may qualify. Answering is voluntary and does not count against you.

Who sees it

  • Innovative Works staff who handle estimates and hiring. Job applications and uploaded documents are kept in our internal system behind a staff login.
  • When a project's funding rules require it, the housing authority or government agency running that project may receive Section 3 information about workers hired on it (for example, Section 3 status and hours worked).
  • The companies that host our website, database and email, only to run those services for us.

We don't sell your information or share it for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and applications as long as they're useful for the purpose above — for example, while a project or hiring need is open, and afterwards where funding or record-keeping rules require it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

Contact us and tell us what you'd like — a copy, a correction, or deletion. We'll confirm it's you and respond as soon as we can. If records must be kept for a funded project, we'll tell you what we have to keep and why.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
